“Lake Okeechobee Releases and Our Gulf & Beaches”, featuring Congressman Curt Clawson, is presented by the Marco Island Civic Association and the Marco Sportfishing Club.
On Monday, April 25, at 6:30 p.m., at Rose History Museum, 180 South Heathwood Drive, Congressman Clawson will address one of the largest environmental issues we are facing in Southwest Florida . . . the water releases from Lake Okeechobee.
The public is invited. Your participation is needed!
Recent releases from Lake Okeechobee have created an ecological and economic disaster not seen since the 2010 BP oil spill. Release of lake waters has sent dark brown, toxic water into the Gulf of Mexico, killing aquatic life and blanketing South Florida’s beach and coastal communities with dead sea grasses, fish and other creatures.
What can be done? What does Congressman Clawson propose? Please join us on Monday, April 25. Let’s work on solutions now – – before it’s too late!
